Kevin, I have always used hand-written bill of sale FWIW on 20-25 cars in the last 20 years.

cabrio993 has all the right language

only thing I would add is a section for any aftermarket parts to be included, if none, then state so

Where I live, the seller can simply sign the back of the ownership and give it to the buyer who then has 10 days (I believe) to transfer the vehicle into their name.

That is one thing I never do because who knows if the buyer isn't driving it without insurance and with phoney plates while it is still registered to me...in my name. Just what I need in case of the buyer having a serious accident. I always go to the licensing bureau and transfer ownership on the spot.

+1 Always go to the DMV and transfer title.
I sold a car a long time ago and the buttwipe who bought it never transferred it to his name. I did the whole bill of sale, etc. But I kept getting their parking tickets sent to my house. Now when I sell a car, I make sure I file it with DMV.

I would definitely take out "Seller has no knowledge of any hidden defects in and to the vehicle, and believes to the best of the Seller’s knowledge that the vehicle being sold is in good operating condition."

There's no reason for it being there from the seller's standpoint. While it is true, it's not at all possible to prove or disprove in court.

I would also definitely add the date when money was accepted and "the title will be transferred and vehicle removed from seller's property by ___________ (date).

+1. That language would make me nervous as a seller. As-is seems good enough to me. Love to have some attorneys weigh in.

Put something like this in there.

"I, the buyer, agree to the terms stated above. I understand that this vehicle is being sold AS-IS. Without any guarantees or warranties, express or implied."
