When say plug and play are you also including all the non-engine related functions in the car that the Motronic ECU is integrated with?

Default End of year is near

I assuming the Master is still busy due to not much new in the thread but the end of the year is near.

This just in, I officially hate immobilizer. I believe my immobilizer is toast, no start, everything else checks out. New ECU without Immobilizer would kill two birds with one Aftermarket ECU.

Hopefully the first thing he wants to play with would be for a 95 US Market OBD1 Immobilizer bypass/delete ECU. Fingers are crossed....

Also very interested in this thread as I have a late 96 NA model...no simple "tuning" options! :-(

No need to run vacuum hose anymore.
There are several 993s running this ECU already.

So how did you get around this? Are you now utilizing the MAF signal by using the stock MAF sensor for input?

I just love all this tech talk! Learning so much. What's the latest regarding dyno runs with these additional ECU's you made? Any data we can see?

Perhaps I'm not following here, but I don't recall seeing your dyno results using this chip and your 200 cell cats compared to your Motec setup. Did you do this? Do you have the superimposed results?

We plug an external MAP into the MAF wiring utlising a harness made from a MAF female plug:

There will be no dyno difference between different ECUs. Think of the ECU as the mailman, he has no say in what he is bringing to you. Someone just has to give him instructions on what to bring and where to take it...

But going from stock ECU (read stock ignition and fuel tables) to Motec, gave me +50Nm and +30hp. You can search for my Motec thread.

Here's a clip of the first start up of a friends 993 turbo with the PnP ECU:

This one has an built-in MAP too:

What is the scale of the MAP? I have a boosted 993 VRAM motor and would love to convert it to E85.

I currently run a Protomotive tune with blow through MAF and 60lb injectors.

What tuning interface is used? Is it ready for USA cars? Would love to hear more about it. I was leaning towards the Vi-PEC V88 standalone but this maybe a cleaner solution.

Nice Idea using the female plug from the MAF for the MAP sensor... Sure does make for a simple install, well done.

We have used a Bosch MAP/IAT sensor that measures up to 300kPa (3bar). You can basically use any sensor that you have the calibration data for (in this case kPa vs. mA correlation table/curve)

The ECU uses MSQ3 processor so the interface is tuner studio on PC via USB cable:

Yes, it works on US cars and yes, it is a VERY clean solution and tunerstudio is very easy to use.
In the newest versions he has knock control and electronic boost control too.

There is a +500hp 993 turbo running with this ECU in California. The guys at RRR dynotuning did the mapping on the car. You could give them a call and ask their opinion about the ECU.

I assume MSQ3 is Megasquirt 3?

If so that is fantastic news! I run Megasquirt on my 300whp Miata track car and have a MS3 unit waiting to be installed. I have seen tuner studio for that and it's a very easy to use interface.

My new MS3 ECU is from a guy in Greece that custom builds them from scratch. His company is MS Labs and his name is Dimitris (aka Reverant).

If this is a MS3 unit you are selling does it support other inputs? I would like to have switchable MAPS and a Flex Fuel sensor for E85. These are standard on the MS Labs MS3.

Count me in as VERY interested. I would like to know a bit more before pulling the trigger. I assume these are available now for purchase?

So can this ECU eliminate the dreaded immobilizer?

Based upon Juha's explanation, I am thinking not...But I still remain hopeful...

Just to be able to tune my car to run better and more efficiently is excitement enough!

I have little doubt that the Todd Knighten at Protomotive can deactivate your immobilizer for you. Give them at call 870.420.3889. No affiliation, just a very impressed customer.
