Default Added to the stable today.....going "hybrid"...sorta

When we moved to Texas in 2000, I sold my last boat and gave up my prime slip at the San Diego Yacht Club, but kept my membership. When we moved back in 2008, we put ourselves on the waiting list for another slip. I finally got my slip in early November (who says there's a recession?), so I've been in full hunt mode for boats. Reminds me of my hunt for the 993 a year ago.

I've looked at a number of mistreated boats in our price range. It's amazing how little you get for 6/GT3 money, in many cases.

I finally hit "the one" right when it got listed last weekend. Drove to Marina Del Rey on Weds to look her over, did the sea trial and hauled her for survey today. Wrote the check at 5:05pm. I'm going to have her sailed down to San Diego next week by a delivery skipper as I probably have to wait until February until my foot is healed, to sail her. But, hopefully next weekend, we'll be drinking some good wine on our "new" ocean condo.

Thanks, I'm pretty pumped up to be back in the sailing world.

And, the offer stands for my RL friends.....I used to be able to conduct a pretty good tour of the local waters. If you find yourself San Diego-bound, let me know!
