Thanks again, she's 34'. As to mods, the diesel power plant stays stock. But, the sky is the limit on high-tech sailing related hardware, rigging, electronics, various systems inboard and the sails themselves. It can make the Porsche slippery slope seem like a 4" curb. As to this one, much has been done, but some updated electronics will probably be first.
My wife is getting the furnishings/decoration list together, so it is a joint effort.

That's what I found at face value-when you get to physically looking at them, most need a lot of TLC. Finding the good value/condition sweet spot was tough. A bit more so than when looking at 993's, but daily persistence pays.

Aw shucks! JoAnne, you get the First Class tour! And, sailing on the bay is usually fine for most people susceptable to being seasick. Although, I've got a friend who can get queasy just sitting on a boat at the dock.

Congratulations, Ed. Is that a sloop or cutter, and who built it?
My motorcycle mechanic, a long time sailer, just got his divorce and bought a 42' Endeavor in Florida. So he just wrenches in the summer now.

It's a Catalina sloop. Funny, when I got divorced in the mid-90's, I gave up the house, and bought a new 38' boat, which I lived on for about 4 years. Should've invested in more real estate, I travelled a lot, so it was like a vacation when I got home every weekend. Man, was life simpler then! Fun too.

Uh, yeah. We were having a local discussion about how great an Elise is. (2 guys are really too much in love with theirs.) I point out what the 914, 4 or 6, was. Questions from the youngsters about Boxster/Cayman similarities. Few, in any, other than the mid-engine architecture.
I had so much more fun at the track back then in light cars with baby engines that had no torque, baby brakes, and skinny non-R compound tires. Yes, some of the cars had slicks, so in that respect nothing today has more absolute grip.
