What do you want to know? I wrapped my land rover a few months ago and overall I am very pleased.

993 770: Was wondering if anyone had done a color wrap, i.e., to change or enhance color, as opposed to protective wrap. Just curious as to how it looks.

It's basically a clear bra, with color. They do the entire car with the color you choose & your color changes. It will last for years, keep your paint in the same shape you wrapped in it, & comes off way easier then it goes on.

The big downside is the price, they charge $4-6000 here to do it. I've seem quite a few cars get it done, when done right, you can not tell it's wrapped.

Thanks, Mike. That's what I was looking for. Wonder if anyone chose this in lieu of a re-spray?

I've mostly seen it done on exotics, that if you paint them, the resale drops. It's more for the person who wants something different, but doesn't want to paint, or wants to change it every year.

A full respray is a lot more then a quality wrap. It still takes the shops 40-60 hours to do the wrap.

Can they match color? I'd like to cover up the wheel arches that take a beating. A few feet of Arena Red plastic and I'd be in great shape.

^ I bet Arena Red would be a tough one to match

Yep, it's pretty damn pricey.

I was offered a full wrap for material costs only (company had new material from Europe they wanted to promote) and even that would've been $2000 or so.

I was/am thinking about it still and it wouldn't be flat black but either flat orange, flat white or flat guards red.

The video indicated 24 man hours of labor, so with about $2,000 of material and labor at about $100/hour, that would suggest price about $5,000. Still cheaper than a re-spray. I'd sure consider it if I wanted to preserve OEM paint underneath.

For $2000 I would seriously consider it, just for kicks. I would go with the flat black--I think those cars just look evil. There is a flat black R8 in the next town over, it looks like something Batman would drive.

Or you could get the wrap for $600 and do the job yourself.
