One of our RL 993 brethren is ill
#107
I had lunch with Chuck and his family today. I picked him up in my 993 and we went for s short drive through Germantown to pick up some Mexican take-out. Among other things, we talked about pickling his car so it's ready when he is, and we talked about Palooza (we're going to be there).
He's doing really well, both physically and attitudinally. The surgeons used staples to close the incision, and as Chuck was putting on his sunglasses, he said, "If I could get these things through a staple, they'd never fall off." Typical.
If any of you want his home address, PM me and I will see that you get it.

Hi to all! I can't tell you how much your responses and notes have meant to me. Kind of answers that age old question posed by Chris Walrod: Is this a great place or what? YES!!!!!
Seriously, a good friend (3 Healeys) printed out your messages and within 30 minutes of reading everything, the docs were in my hospital room, telling me I looked great and they were thinking of sending me home. There is a direct correlation there and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Went to see doctor today for the first time since surgery. Got the staples pulled out of my head.
Next step is treatment-chemo and radiation. I guess that'll start in a couple of weeks. This frickin cancer is hot on my trail but I can assure you I'm going to kick its ***!
I have another MRI scheduled for this Friday to kind of set a baseline condition to determine how effective the treatment is.
I've been cleared to go back to work so I'm going to get myself on a schedule for going into the office occasionally. I kind of need the distraction.
Doc told me I can't drive for 3 months because I had a minor seizure while I was in the hospital. That was hugely disappointing. But I was expecting that. This is gonna screw up the Porsche Palooza for me this year. Really ticks me off.
Question for those who park your cars during winter. I guess I should over inflate my tires, put some stabil in the fuel tank to treat this crap they call gas these days? What other things to do since my car is garage art for the next few months? Have my ctek battery charger hooked up (optima battery).
Thanks for asking Mark and god bless each and everyone of you who have taken the time to send me a note, mention me in a prayer and generally send good vibes my way. What an outstanding group of people you are. It's an honor to be part of this group.

Three Wheelin'
Great to hear you are on the mend. I would over inflate them to 45ish, I agree with the stabil, and she will be waiting for you once you can drive. Keep getting better!

Chuck, great to hear that you are feeling better!
Please know that if you decide to come to Boston for treatment or tests at some point (Dana Farber and several other very good places are right here), you always will have all the help and support that you might need here.
As far as storing the car - I've never used Stabil or anything else in my own 993. Left it as is. You can inflate tires some, but not a big deal either.
