8kg comes out of the RS loom from removing heated rear window, sunroof, electric windows, alarm, stereo, central locking, electric spoiler, aircon, etc.

The Speedster just has electric roof delete and rectification of previous butchery by alarm and stereo fitters.

Robin pressed on with the minor assembly this morning and installed the main power loom which runs directly from the battery to the starter right through the heart of the car.

Meanwhile, fuelled by non-stop cups of tea, Marc stripped the perished outer covering from the main wiring harnesses, inspected the wires and rebound them with new cloth tape ready for fitting.

Some time later, the freshly repaired & re-covered looms were installed into the shell, giving Marc the opportunity to try out his driving style.

Thus, with the engine bay nearing completion, it will soon be time to drop in the engine next week. Unfortunately for the non-Brits it's a public holiday in the UK on Monday, hence don't expect another update until Tuesday (at the earliest). Have a great weekend folks!

Marc repaired the DME wiring loom on Saturday so the boys could make a start with the engine installation.

For reference, under the left seat are the DME (silver), ignition amplifier and drive block module (black); under the right seat are the Nokia hifi amp (black) and alarm/lock module (silver). Engine management wiring loom runs from DME along left though bulkhead, main wiring harness runs on rhs of floor through bulkhead in opposite corner.
