Default Hope this is not one of your cars

Hello, Someone had parked outside the office in front of a Hydrant so the email was sent out from HR showing what can happen to your car if you do.

Looked at the picture & the car is a black 993 cab. Had to double check quickly. Phew

Hope it was not any Rennlists members car

I've seen pictures where they break both door windows and run the hose thru the car. Not sure which is worse, but some parking rules are not to be played with.

Good, I hope they goofed something up and his insurance doesn't pay. I'm sick of ignorant a-holes. I saw a San Diego City truck recently not moving over for the fire truck behind him with siren wailing.

They could have routed the hose around the rear of the car. But guess they had to make a point.

My thoughts exactly. The car should not be parked there, but do the firefighters have to do that? Same thing with that BMW. The hose clearly could have gone over the roof, hood or trunk. How much time did they spend breaking both windows and snaking the hose thru the car, and how much did the fire progress while they were having a laugh? Parking in front of a hydrant is a serious crime. But one or more firefighters wasting critical moments at the scene of a fire is not too cool either.

I applaud them. My guess is, they have an unwritten code that someone smashes the windows immediately in these instances, and snakes the hose through while they prep the hydrant. As I stated before, I hope insurance companies have a loophole.

+1 with Ed. There's a reason you don't park in front of a fire hydrant. What if it was your house on fire, or your loved one in the ambulance that's blocked by the ******* that won't yield?

Mike
