Default All shined up...with somewhere to go!

My first "real excercise" in 8 weeks. Washed her, stripped the old wax/sealants and put a fresh coat on today. Not that big of a deal, until you try it with 1 1/4 hands/arms. Still have a removable cast on as my LH ulnar bone mends, and my wrist is still pretty jacked up. I'm beat-I can barely hold my cigar and beer!

Midnight Blue Metallic is such a great color in person, especially after a fresh wash.

Going out for a celabratory dinner tonight at a great restaurant (Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe) to celebrate my acceptance of a new job! Had to go in style, although my wife thinks her E350 rocks.

And before I get any comments about ride height-those are my new ROW
MO33 springs waiting on new shocks to arrive, and me to have use of both arms.

Congrats on the new job Ed!

Midnight Blue is truly a beautiful colour. It can look very different in changing light conditions. Only problem is I think it may actually be more difficult to keep up than black!

Oh, won't bug you about SUVness for a bit. How does 4 weeks sound?

Thanks Tim! Your avatar is the best photo representation I've seen, IMO.

It may be closer to Labor Day weekend. I'd love to have them on before my trip to car week in Monterey in August, but to do that, I'll probably have to take it to a shop. This arm is really cramping my style.

Ed, from recent experience I'd suggest 4 arms with at least two of them being highly flexible for rear shocks install. But I think you're going to like he result (I'm on M030/HDs and like it for the street).

That's kinda what I figured, so I'm giving myself more time.

Looks great. Almost orderd my Boxster in Midnight Metallic Blue and then almost bought my Turbo in Midnight Metallic Blue. Maybe some day I'll get that color. Stunning!

Nice work, Ed.

Ed,
Let me know when your shocks come in, I can give you a hand.
I also made some corner balacing contraptions that you are welcome to borrow to get it dialed in prior to your alignment. You can adjust ride height/camber and toe while the suspension is fully weighted on the ground.

gorgeous. I am very impressed by the 1 1/4 hand/arm part. With all my hands and arms, I have done many times what you described, and I was pretty much in the garage all day. You are very dedicated

If you remove the air cleaner body from one side, and the air fan assembly from the other side, it should be very straight forward...no real double elbows required. The bottom is really simple, just mark the eccentrics and pull some bolts.....and then get an alignment done.

Cheers,

MIke

Mike, we pulled the airbox out but left the fan in on the driver's side. It wasn't bad with working wrists.

But I had wrist surgery a couple of years ago and remember how stiff and inflexible it was for several month. I wouldn't tackle the top rear nuts with really stiff wrist as they are by feel only.

Well after 5 hours of effort, on the way to dinner I got a HUGE piece of metal thru my RH rear tire. I thought I threw an axle when I first heard it. All I saw when I stopped was a 1/2" diameter shiny something sticking out 3/8". It held air though-didn't have to pull the spare.Thump, thump, thump at 15 mph for about 5 miles to get home. In the pic of the springs above, you can see my new rear tires, which are going on in the next day or so.

Still made it to dinner 30 minutes late.

+1 I've got to do a PSS-10 install one day in the future, so any hands on knowledge I can get in the mean time is all good!
