Ok ..turn the radio on and if you touch any button, but the power button it turns off.

The weird thing is... If you try to use the power button to turn it off nothing happens.


Ideas ? Thoughts? Anybody in Dallas have a spare that I could do a swap with to see if it's the radio?

On a serious note, what unit does your car have? Does it have a seperate CD player, etc. That info will be helpful in troubleshooting.

 

Stock cassette unit with factory cd changer.... I think the cr210

 

Take the face off and clean the contacts with some alcohol or something like that. If that doesn't sort it i reckon you need a new one.
I have seen this a few times over the years.

 

I have the same system and I was driving along with a CD playing and the thing just shut off. The power button brought it back up and I haven't had the problem since. Strange...

 

Off to cleaning I go

 

use an eraser, pen eraser, but don't press hard
