50th Bday Pcar diorama-dirt track edtion
back story...my cousin the artist-who sketched the rennlist stickers, painted a Gilles V painting for my 40th, as well as the Senna rainmeister watercolor I've posted before...to say the least a very talented and creative guy...
Anyway, got the diorama this weekend-they live in Mt. Kisco and were visiting, actual bday is the 27th of this month.
We grew up going to local dirt tracks, and seeing practically anything cobbed up into a round d round racer was kinda normal. He started with a 1/24th scale 993 GT2 model(?), sourced some of the other scale stuff on line, and simply crafted the other pieces. It took waaaay more time than he would say, the detail is simply amazing. Fluids simply leaking out of everywhere...look for it. He decided the orig tail didn't look right, so used the old turbo tea tray from another model he had. Kinda like me...got a big box of un built, half built, and spare model parts in the basement.
Anyway, simply mind blowing...enjoy.

day-um! That's so well done! The front engine retrofit with the Vette side pipes is hilarious. My respects to your model builder friend. That's some serious time he put in.

A link to John's site, lots of wildlife, ocean stuff, as well as some motorsport. http://www.johnriceart.com/
Photo's below of
68 Dodge Dart GTS I had in High school/college...NEVER should have gotten rid of that car. This watercolor is over 30 years old.
Senna in the rain, probably 20+ year old watercolor. The detail is simply breathtaking.
Gilles V in the Ferrari, this was a gift for my 40th birthday...10 years ago. We watched Gilles race snowmobiles for the Factory Alouette team, at most local Sno Pro events here in Central New York. He was supremely approachable, I imagine somewhere in the old snowmobile race scrapbooks I have his autograph. I probably should dig thru them and see...
Also, the art show bill from his Watkins Glen event a couple of years back.
Any of you guys that go to the NY GP indoor kart track near Mt. Kisco, his motorsport art has been on display there many times.
He's an all around great guy, extremely talented, and blessed with a very unique sense of humor too.
