Default Seeking 993 coupe

Begrudgingly looking to change over to a coupe. Track speed in Red run group + 4 1/2 year old in the back seat + live in Manhattan and don't have room for 2 = be responsible.

Looking for (and no offense to any of you who have stuff in my personal "no"...I love all 993s, just looking for "mine") the "Perfect" to me = Midnight blue metallic/cashmere, LSD/ABD or whatever the TLA is, regeared, RS clutch / LWF, stiff and low suspension ala' JIC, below 75k mi, 8.5 and 10x18" wheels, and sadly, a coupe.

Since perfect may never happen, here's my list:

Must haves:
  • Probably C2, but would consider C4, C2S/4S if the surcharge for the S wasn't so high. Can't afford a Turbo.
  • Manual only. No tip.
  • Mid mileage is fine...don't need a garage queen. I won't be putting a ton of miles, but they will be dual use street/track (DE only, not Club race). Further, I will "molest" it with suspension, regearing, euro turbo nose, etc. Ideal is 60k probably
  • Sunroof
  • Exterior color:Midnight blue metallic, consider black metallic or perhaps black
  • Interior color order of preference: Cashmere, classic grey or black, marble grey maybe.

Nice to haves:
  • I prefer tasteful Rennlist-oriented mods vs. pure stock (as per sig line): wheels, suspension, exhaust, steering wheel, ideally tranny/LSD (otherwise I'll swap out the one I have), LWF, Goldenrod, seats. All are fine. No rhinestones, discoballs, neon.
  • Euro Turbo nose
  • Tasteful wing
  • Nice 18" wheels

Please PM me if you have my Cinderella.

If you like bright and airy, avoid a black interior. I was surprised how much less claustrophobic the grey interior was compared to the black. I guess it's because the dash sits so close to the driver in these cars.

I'll bet if I offered up a certain Arctic Silver/Chestnut Brown 4S with 140K on it for $9999, you'd make a concession...............

Enjoy the hunt. And an AWD 993 really drives no differently than a RWD one on track in the dry. At least from my experience on back-to-back-to-back days with the yellow car/4S/RSA.

Well, or course...

Really? So many people talk about disabling the FWD part of the C4S/Turbo to get the 2WD?

Grass is always greener, etc. Now, I have zero track experience with AWD past stock NA power, but I've run around on track enough with Greg H. to know there's really no difference in how he's driving his car.

Oh, right it's the weight. Tell me the last time an instructor refused to give a student (or a hot chick wandering the paddock) a ride because it adds ~150+ lbs. (And if you look at that Spec 911 video I posted the other day, the race winner Tom VanOverbeck is carrying 100lbs. trophy weight. He won the race by about 15 seconds, even after having to work to the front from a 5th place inverted start.)

Did any 993's even come with Chestnut interior? I thought that started with 996's.

I have to agree... After owning both, I can tell ZERO difference between a 2/4...ZERO!! In dry conditions... The 4s has a slight advantage in the wet... Very slight. You just don't notice the awd

Big difference in the snow! (Though I have to admit I've not even taken the yellow car onto a wet track.)

Oh, so you can't get my sport seats so you're ditching the car? So that's makes two in the Bay Area alone.

That's not mine for sale. Mine is much more tasteful with Fiskes and no tip.

And I haven't given up on your sport seats -- I will have them someday, unless of course I find a coupe and get sport seats in that car.

Ah, OK.

You probably won't want my seats after I hop in the car today. It is a GOOD day to have a shower at the shop............. (Really grimy from yellow car alignment check + load up for the track + it's rather hot today.)
