Default Owners manual topics of interest

The main things I'm looking for are: the emergency operation of the cabriolet top, removal of the wind deflector(for carrying passengers in the backseat), headlight/foglight, and climate control system operation. I realise the engine is different ie varioram and emissions. Thanks again!

No doubt. Talk about an infinite profit considering it probably came in the glove compartment of a written off car.

I can confirm the 993 owners handbook as supplied with the car is NLA from Porsche

Victory Motorcars seems to have a way of sourcing owner's manuals.

Checking today according to my local Porsche dealer parts department there are 93 copies available of the 1996 993 owners' manual at the PA warehouse which can be ordered by any dealership. That would include Sunset. There are currently no 1997 manuals available in the USA. Didn't ask about '95 or '98.

Just to clarify. In US it is not PCA but Porsche dealerships that can order them.

The Porsche Club of America (PCA) does not sell Porsche parts. It is an association.

I think you mean PCNA....

The Porsche dealers in NZ say they can no longer get 993 owners manuals from Porsche in Germany. Maybe I should have tried a dealer in the states. In any case, do you reckon that the 97 model year owners manual will be pretty much the same as the 95 model year owners manual?

Default Mission accomplished

In the end I got the owners manual from a 1996 993 on ebay for $97. Not cheap but it had what I was looking for.

Hi All,
The most important issue with the owners manual is to get a manual that was printed before the car was built. The owners manual have a print date on them.
Otherwise it is a bit of a give away that it's not the original, owners manual.

They are STILL available but only the 1998 versions - I ordered manuals from Sunset about 6 months ago, and Bob confirmed a few days ago that Porsche can only supply these manuals. The rest are NLA. cost was around $40 or so if I remember correctly.

Cheers,

Mike
