Default OT: Are you guys into watches?

Most likely you are. I have a Panerai 61 and a Rolex 16610 LV. Just like our cars, watches are pcs of art, but they can be worn. I like paintings but you cant use them...LOL.

Here is my PAM 61

and here is my 16610 LV sub.

Indeed. Looking good!
Watch forum is where you want to be.
I love my PAM 025 on Greg Stevens strap amongst others. I wear my GMT2C as a daily and my SS Daytona on weekends (when I dont need the date!). Im a big fan of vintahe Rolex and Tudor sports watches and tonight Im wearing a blue dial/bezel 20 year old Tudor Subby with plexi freshly restored by RSS. Just gorgeous.....I just got the Tudor Heritage chrono for my Bday and its a great retro piece too. Waiting for the new explorer II to be launched to retail as I think thats next for the collection...

Wear in good health.

How your wngine work proceeding? Very keep for an update when you can. I hope to be in country to Dyno mine in a weeks time and will post results. ..

Wow that's some seriously nice stuff! I've always loved mechanical watches, but I made the decision to use only affordable automatics and I've been sticking to it .

For those long weekend drives on the backroads with the 993 I have this vintage Omega Chronostop Driver:

Yes. Used to really be into PAM until they got too popular! Seems like I see them everywhere. Certainly, some PAM models are rarer than others, keeping it interesting.

My favorite brand these days for a unique and not well known watch, with great quality and tremendous value, is www.stowa.de

No affiliation, just satisfied customer

I am mostly into old Omega stuff. A vintage PloProf is my most valuable/interesting watch. I think I have posted pics in the watch forum.

I know the feeling, I've got 9 PAMs! (yes, at some point I was single) I also have (and love) my IWC Big pilot. I'm actually looking to trade ((PAMs for Audemars or PAMs for a respectfully used Porsche 964 C4 if anyone interested!)

i'm left handed and wear watches on my right arm.
most interesting watches have winders and other stuff that "hurts" my right wrist when worn.
so i prefer steel framed bicycles as useable art.

enjoy what works for you!

Yes, but I draw the line at price vs performance.

I have an old but mint Casio AE-12W and a Casio WV-58V, the latter that I never have to set the time on.

mr Sullivan. I dont disagree with you. I put the Titanium 025 into the collection after Paneraei Got popular but just kept to one piece mainly because in my part of the world the PAM fetish was a largely Asian collector phenomenon. Interesting as they often have the smallest wrists. My Asian collecting mates have moved on now and they have largely sold their holidings down to buy more epensive, exotic and very low production pieces. It seems the market is continually evolving.....

they lost $1200 worth of BBS and Yokohama and denied the insurance!! I posted here about it - search for BBS RE.

I have a Speedy too, as well as a 50's Seamaster dress watch.

I love watches. My favorite is my Panerai PAM 90. I also have a limited edition PAM 232. It's been sitting in my safe for the past 4 years. Never worn. Too beautiful. Maybe some day. It's my 993 Turbo top-end repair bill hedge fund! Seriously.

Love my Rolex Sub and DateJust. They've been everywhere with me. I have an old Seiko tank watch my parents bought me (from Marshall Field's for Christmas) 28 years ago when in college. Still looks great!

In the market for an Omega Big Planet Ocean.

I try to wear a different watch every month. Some watches only get worn one month per year.

I bought myself a 1969 Rolex "Red Letter" Submariner about 10 years ago. Wish I'd bought 100 of them, as it's quadrupled in value since then. Was my daily watch, now I seldom wear it.

Vintage watches and vintage cars have much in common...
