Thanks for the nudge! I ordered a set today.

I had a set on my "to buy" list, not that I need them at the moment.

FWIW, I called around a bit yesterday, one side seems to be in stock at several places, the other side is rarer and can't be ordered anymore. I was able to get a pair from Automotion for $71 apiece (their price was $89, but I asked them to match the $61 price from AutoHaus AZ, which they wouldn't do because it indicates as a special order item on their site, they came down to $71, though). It did say low stock at Automotion, so not sure how many they still have.

Hmmm. I was under the impression that nobody had any sets left. I hope they can all deliver. I don't know for sure how there became a shortage of one side, but evidently that is the case. Both sides have been discontinued, and Bosch is out of stock. I'll try to get a better hold of the situation tomorrow.

My lenses are in decent shape but the little reflector thing is pretty yellowish on both lights. What should I be ordering? The whole lense? Is the shiny reflector thing available seperately?

Why do I find this hard to belive? Even if Porsche will only sell complete headlight assemblies, the lenses for said assemblies have to come from somewhere. Which would mean that someone will make the lenses. Not trying to stir the pot, just strikes me as odd as these are not a "lifetime" part, more a consumable IMO.

No, same for both

There are plenty of the Bosch sets in the UK, Bosch will not sell them anymore, only supply to Porsche, hence the price increase. £50 for Bosch, soon to be £80 for Porsche

Hmmm, normally that is done during the first few years of a car's production...not 13+ years later.

You would be surprised. Both Bosch AND Porsche (and hella and SWF and mahle and etc. you see what I'm getting at) have long lists of parts they discontinue every day with Porsche applications. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find new Heat exchangers for a 914? standard main bearings for a 914? How about a 924 (difficult, but still possible)? The other day I found out that 944 2.7 intake and exhaust valves are gone. ALL OF THEM... We could get our hands on ONE!

It's a strange world, the parts business. Lots of interesting decisions being made.

I got a tracking # from Automotion yesterday, so, presumably, they were-are in stock.

Isn't the yellowing on the inside from a removable piece of plastic?
