For what it's worth, I'm still convinced that the Ebay listing in question is misleading.

Uh..........it's not cosmetically perfect, just unused. So don't sweat it. You should see its "mate," the one that came from the excess parts bin at Racer's Group. (My total cost for both calipers was about $150. And I got the adapter blocks + a front hub on the TRG solo.)

I just bought a set of big reds from Sunset for $850.

He has some neat stuff, but nothing you can't find at the dealer for 30% less.

He has been advertising some 993rs sun visors, which are neither RS nor 993. based on the photo anyway

Nah, I think it's totally fair to call him an a-hole. Obviously these parts have been painted, and he knows it (considering all his experience with Porsches).

Not abnormal for a guy to be fair & nice in person, but a complete liar to anonymous internet buyers. Very uncool.

If the listing is misleading, it should be flagged for removal.

I have not looked at Big Reds up close...just my little Blacks. Mine have black paint on the rubber covers and bleed screws. When I went to do my first "every two years" brake bleed, I distinctly remember the paint flaking off.

As someone else said, I don't have a dog in this fight. However, does the paint in the picture rear most caliper look a little funky?

Paint on the bleed nipples is plausible. Paint all over the pad retaining springs and sensor wire clip is not.

It would be a shame for a Rennlister to purchase these (not cheap), and then find out once they're installed that the calipers were given a quick misting of Rust-Oleum red....

Just saying.

You think?
Listing Violations > Listing policy violations (improper keywords, outside links, excessive shipping, etc) > Misleading title > Intentionally misleading or deceptive titles

Are the brake fluid lines usually painted too? Seems like mine were not on my blacks. I don't know. I will say he has some neat stuff sometimes but he always seems very high on the price side of things.

I won't comment on the correctness of the calipers, but I will say that I bought something from them and never again.

Someone should send him a link to this so he can address the issue directly.

I did it Monday evening. Boy is this thread getting ugly.

I am not saying that Road and Race screwed over a Rennlister, I am no judge and Jury. However as a general practice, I'd suggest to sellers, don't screw over a Rennlister, they have friends all over the world, and lots of us are very vocal. As once was once said, Pay back is a Bitch!

You're not kidding, go check out the 928 section and the thread about Upper A-arms. Talk about kicking yourself in the nuts.
