I saw this today and couldn't resist taking a few photos.

It has been raining off and on here the last couple of weeks, so my car is filthy in these photos. My apologies for that.

I had to have a second look...a Ford GT, not a GT40.

The web site I was on had quite a few for sale...5, 6 years old GTs and only hundreds of miles, some with only a few thousand miles...whats with that?

Great car. That's what a Live Axle Mustang wants to be when it grows up.

Bad-***!! So freaking sexy. Makes the sublime 993 look like a prosaic Chevy Malibu.

The limited # of Gulf Blue Ford GT's tend to be garage queens hence the low mileage example on ebay....

The Ford GT has been holding value very well and is a great car.
Im looking for a high mile, any other color but red, driver for 100k............

Been waiting patiently.... but just cant seem to get em' below 115k to date.

I'll bet that website was www.eliteautosllc.com
I think they've had more GTs in their showroom than anyone.....check their "sold inventory"! They're not too far from us.

Nope, I came across FordGTForSale.com when I was looking for sites to compare the body of the original GT40 and recent GT.

I can't comment on dimensions, but the shapes are as similar as can be.

Good looking car, so is a Ferrari. Lets hope it isn't the usual Ford quality under the skin.

There is something about shapes like that; that duck tail rear, etc.

It reminds me of a Ferrari 250 GTO, one of my favourites.

This was styling 40 years before the GT...

A cousin has one. He's no track guy, so he asked if I'd take him out in it. Circa 2005, when it was new. Brake pedal to the floor in four laps running Spec Miata lap times. Huge and ponderous on track. May be the end-all-be-all for the street, but you tell me where you can drive it in anger?

I would be worried about Ford build-quality too, but would take my chances with a Ford GT.

Ken's perspective is interesting.

I had always read that Ford GTs were built to be (and were) credible threats to contemporary track-worthy production Ferraris (based on memory, I think that would have been the 360 Modena) - just as the GT40 was intended to (and did) vanquish factory-prepped Ferraris at Le Mans.

Either way, after my 10-12 Porsches, if I still had any lottery winnings left, I would get a Ford GT.

I might as well put together my list...

1. 959
2. 718 RSK or RS 60
3. '57 Carrera Speedster
4. 904
5. '67 911 R
6. '73 RS (of course)
7. 993 RS
8. 993 Turbo S
9. Carrera GT
10. 918 RSR
11. 997.2 turbo S (daily driver)
12. 997.2 GT3 (daily track tool)
13. Ford GT

i LOVE the GT!! this will **** a lot of us off but I actually like the look of that car more than the 993 (and I own a 993TT). Have never actually driven the Ford GT, though, so cant speak about its performance but man what a BEAUTY!

It's one of the only Fords I lust after!

Here is a real one during a restoration.
