Was parked next to a beautful Gulf edition one at Rennsport Reunion III. Would post high-res pictures if I could manage to get them sized OK for upload. They really are spectacular.

My mechanic's boss has one (white w/navy stripes). It sits under a half inch of dust in the shop. Never driven. What a shame.

I got to do about 50 laps or so in one one day, thankfully it had MPSC's and some great break pads. It was quite the machine, tons of fun and went like stink.

The only major issue with them when on the track (apart from stock brake pads etc) is the clutch fluid and lines. they run very close to a heat source and can become an issue of the clutch pedal going to the floor.... Not fun when you are doing 170mph into a near right hander trying to do down shifts.....

and you could buy about 160 FordGT @ $175K for the price of one of those.

I was initially loving that Ford...but maybe the F car would work for me as well...
The good thing (for both cars) is that I would want to drive them all the time...and they are in safe hands with people that can afford them!

Dismiss it as a "kit car" if you want, but the CAV cars look pretty sexy. They have the official rights to the Gulf livery. The chassis and suspension seem to be well conceived: http://www.cav.co.za/pages/specs.php
I saw a couple of used examples offered at $80K - $90.

I will say that the replica looks a lot like the real thing on the suspension, brakes, & interior. Even the headers look just like the real one.
