Default Transmission Mount Options? Your opinion needed

During my recent LWF clutch install I noticed I had easy side to side movement in the stock 17 year old trans mount. No noticable cracks but while it was out I wanted to change it. Instead of buying and trying to home install an RS mount I went with a Turbo Kraft trans mount. It is very well built but had to be modified to fit in the G50/20 housing.

Before the blizzard hit I was able to drive the car some and it is just too much NVH for a street car IMO. The shifter was rock solid and this would be great for track use but too much noise for the misses as a passenger. So back to the drawing board.

I am looking for options or feedback on what is best for a mostly street car. The Turbo Kraft will be easy to remove and I think I can make a "tool" to press/pull in the new mount (depending on the style) while the trans in is the car.

So the question is which way to go:

Option 1:
Stock trans mount part # 964 375 055 02 (middle of the road price)

Option 2:
RS Trans mount part # 964 375 055 80 (pricey but is it worth it?)

Option 3:
911 sport type pieces from Pelican or something similar (has anyone tried these, price is right but I am afraid of the NVH levels)

Option 4:
Leave the TK in and stop being a puss

Option 5:
Other street options I am missing?

There seem to be plenty of threads where people have purchased RS mounts but not much feedback on it. Oh the car already has RS motor mounts and I noticed no increase in NVH when I installed them earlier on.

Anyone have a stock or RS trans mount that never got installed???

Thanks

I went RSR mount from Gert. I recall it may have been cheaper than the RS version. I have RS engine mounts, Rennline engine carrier reinforcement, RS LWFC and solid read subframe mounts (993 GT2). I find it really good and works well with the FD Golden rod, weiltmiester front hiem ball mount rod and RS shifter.

Its very subjective of course and different from car to car. I would go with stock or RS. If you choose to go with RS and want to look at a cheaper alternative consider RSR/Cup. It has a harder platicinsert but otherwise is the same and I think is no more noticeable NVR than the RS one....

Cheers

RS mount. A solid mount is, obviously, going to be annoying for a street-only or mostly street car, despite the added shifting precision.

Thanks for the input guys.

I am leaning towards the RS mount so I will probably go that route but will think about a little more.

Anyone with an RS trans mount notice too harsh a difference?

Thanks again!

So is the C4 mount stiffer than stock C2 mount and softer than RS ?
Just got a price for the RS mount and it is close to 500 USD here :S

Just tok the transmission mount of my car (easy 15 min job), my tranny bushing has this part no : 993.375.219.00.
The rubber has several cracks and I will be replacing it with the RS part no.

Edit : part no corrected from 279 to 219

I remember a couple of years ago some vendor clearing out RS trans mounts for $70. Thought of picking one up, but didn't need one at the time. Oh well...

Geo, do you know how it is supposed to be orientated when you mount it ?

it is symetrical, any which way it goes in.
But as I said before, it is a great pain in the butt to press change.
If you have a press shop near you, thats another story

I have a press so no problem there.
If you take a look at the picture at the top of this thread it does not look like it is symmetrical (difference between left and right).

The original mount that i just took out has arrows that point up/down.

I thought the RS part would only work on 2wd cars??
