Default Griot's Garage "Cars & Coffee" 1/8

Lets try a New Years 993 gathering! It's right near the Tacoma Mall on 38th St. The only downside is 8am start, if you show up late, you may have to park on the street. If we get enough interest, I have a few contacts @ Griot's & might be able to get our own section.

There are a couple of good places for Breakfast, & coffee in the area.

Caffeine & Gasoline is fast becoming a must-attend event, and we hope you'll join us for the fun. Bring your favorite ride and chat with other enthusiasts over free coffee and donuts!

This month get up close and personal with the historic 1977 McLaren M23-012. This incredible machine was piloted by Jochen Mass to a season-best 2nd place finish at the '77 Swedish G.P. (check out this cool video summary). Knowledgable historians will be on-hand to show you the car's intricacies and answer your questions. Plus, you'll get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to hear the McLaren's 490 horsepower Ford powerplant growl as we fire up the car!

Caffeine & Gasoline takes place on the first Saturday of every month. Because of the New Year holiday, however, January's event will occur on the 8th. We hope to see you here!
See and hear the historic McLaren M23-012 F1
Show off your ride and chat with other caffeinated enthusiasts
Free coffee and donuts
Pick up a Rewards Card for freebies and savings

It's the middle of winter, you can't possibly having something else to do.

Yea, I know about the tech session on 1/29, but was hoping to just have a few 993's show up & hang out.

Would you even drive your car down if you were going?

My car may be in the detail shop but if not I'll try an make it. Up in my neck of the woods the forecast is for a 60% chance of snow showers on Saturday, and a 40% chance of snow on Sunday. So it should be interesting.

8am early? Shoot, if your not in Irvine C&C by 6:45am, you're not parking there.

We don't even get any kind of light before 8am up here.

Tell them to get it done! NWAS, or Metro? I got some pull @ Metro, I can get them to finish it up in time for ya.

You got to see the C4, after getting it back from the body shop.

If I were able to attend, I'd most definitely drive the car unless the forecasted convergent zone snow fell the night before.

Just giving you a hard time!

Griot's is going to do this every 1st weekend of the month. We have a few to come.

Come on guys, I want to show off my new bumper mod!

Would love to attend but the rental house has to be finished up. This is the big weekend as renters have to make a decision and give notice by the 10th. Still lots to do so it looks good and gets rented and finished by the end of the month. Bad timing...

Really want to hear, see and smell the McLaren F1 car! My wife was going to came along too when I told her they were going to fire it up. She is as much an F1 fan as I am. Pretty cool for somebody who had never heard of F1 10 1/2 years ago!

Have fun.

PS: Car is still dirty. Just drove it in the garage after the last C & C and put it on the trickle charger.

I'm gonna play it by ear in the morning, I doubt I'll feel like doing the 120 miles if it's nasty out.

And Mike, it's beyond ironic that you gave Harlan a hard time about driving his car in poor weather and then you post a picture of a (slightly) dirty car.... and it's not even your own!

Can't do it tomorrow, but please keep posting these. Might be fun to take a "quick run" up there!
