Everyone on the 964T board uses one word all the time - fun, and more fun. Makes one go hmmmm. Have you seen this thread? https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...vs-993-na.html I've been spending quite a bit of time on that forum lately, just readiiiing since I came across the 'I like it ' youtube video. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...i-like-it.html

I added an '87 Carrera to the garage about a year after buying my 993 (picture attached). I use the '87 as my DD and have absolutely no regrets - even though I had to drop a small fortune on an engine rebuild shortly after the purchase (yes, I had a PPI from a well-respected shop). But all's well now and the car runs beautifully. Good excuse to go with 964 cams and a Steve Wong chip I heartily recommend a G50 Carrera if you're looking for another 911. A nice contrast to the refinement of the 993.

Worn valve guides were the main culprit at about 115K miles. Oil consumption was somewhere in the 1 qt. per 400-500 miles range. My car also had Alusil cylinders which had seen better days, so I went with a new set of Mahle Nikasil p/c.

I'll take this opportunity to plug Bob Grigsby and Dan Heinrichs at RMG in Sunnyvale, CA for doing a terrific job on the rebuild. The car runs beautifully and is a blast to drive.

well, we're now in discussion, only problem it needs a top-end rebuild. However it's in mint condition with 66k miles.... What would you do, pay etc???

I had a 79 930 with some nice upgrades. It is now back in Europe.
The 930 is a grat car. Very fast on boost. But, how often do you actually get to drive it that way on the street. Not too often. It really does not make a good dd. Nice car to have an drive every once in a while.
This is my third 993 I have owned, and it is a much better car overall.
Not as fast as the 930, but I enjoy it more.
With that said, I which I had my old speed yellow X50 TT 996 back.
