87 was a transitional year so not all 87's had the G50.

Personally I think the G50 vs 915 is a bit overblown, I have a 915 and don't mind the transmission at all. This is a bit anecdotal, but it seems that the 84-86 cars have fewer valve guide issues.

I purchased the 3.2 first, and still love driving the car.

This is the car, not the best photo, but you get the idea.

SHOULD I GO FOR IT??? #2 plug is fouled owner says, lil smoke on startup that recently started, none while driving, mint condition, good clutch, zero zero mods, , no rock chips, scratches, etc, **** owner known him for over 20 years, bought my first pcar from him. This car will not be a daily driver......

I had an 89 Silver Anniversary Edition with 14k miles. It was great fun. No power steering. You could feel it when you drove over a dime. Crazy HVAC system with levers all over the place and the shifter is really old school.

If you have a 993, I am not sure why you would want one of these. Would you want to concours it?

That's what I would be doing if I still had the 3.2

Have? No. Want? HELL YES!!

Almost my dream spec.....only thing I'd want different would be GPW or Silver body. But this would definitely do.

The 930 is a grat car. Very fast on boost. But, how often do you actually get to drive it that way on the street. Not too often. It really does not make a good dd. Nice car to have an drive every once in a while.
This is my third 993 I have owned, and it is a much better car overall.
Not as fast as the 930, but I enjoy it more.
With that said, I which I had my old speed yellow X50 TT 996 back.

Very nice!!

I couldn't be happier with my 94 3.6....however, I still miss my 87 G50 and the RSA. They were both a lot of fun in different ways.

a 3.2 Carrera and a 993 Yes
a 3.2 Carrera only No.

I agree though the shifter is like one of bugs bunny's ears the 915 is fine you just have to understand it.

they do eat parts if you don't understand it. A balk ring synchromesh wasn't a fast easy shifting trans.

+1. That is a super sharp 3.2 IMHO. LOVE the stance on that one. I've often thought about one of these as a DD. I'd like a silver targa setup just like this red coupe.

I loved my 84 but wouldn't trade it for my 95. As many others have said it would be nice to have both. The 3.2 has a nice rawness to it. Good luck with the purchase.

Go for it! I would love to add a 3.2, or better yet, a 930 to the stable someday. The best part...no immobilizer!

I love my fact.w body 85 as much as my 95. The 993 is certainly faster but I must say that I enjoy the raw feel of the 85 more. If I had to decide between the two I honestly couldn't.

Yep, that's it. She was streaking across the front of a Road&Track magazine. That shape & color lit a fire in a 14 year old boy. And thus the madness began.

(If anyone has that approx 1987 issue, I'd love to see it, buy it, whatever!)
