I had a ride in that car. Insane. Truly a jewel down to every detail. Even the dash has been re-made from billet aluminum. There is not one piece of that car that hasn't been carefully studied, re-engineered for added strength and less weight, then covered in leather, polished or bead blasted.
Every panel on the car is CF including the bumpers. Including the chrome bumperettes. They are carbon painted in some metalized coating then chromed.
If you call 9m and order that 425hp motor they will quote you $72,000. No kidding. Then of course you have to get a trick trans, diff, etc. Bespoke Bilstien remote res dampers, suspension, etc.
They tooled up parts to make those seats from 993 8-way chassis. There is not one piece of that interior that hasn't been re-approached and refinished. Check out the mirrors.
They hired a world class composited company to have them build carbon panels bumpers, and structural components for a car that when finished weighs 2400lbs. It is truly unbelievable and too much to take in at once.
Furthermore, its their first car (the orange car was effectively a concept). The components have been studied, tooled and re-tooled for further production. Can't wait to see the next car!!
I thought my build was a pain in the ***.
