Yeah, probably only 356 made so VW, er, Porsche can gouge it's customers.
Sorry, I don't see the allure of this try-hard "Speedster".
When a manufacturer's website brags about all the differences it's "special" car has, and then it's mostly about different carpeting, fuel filler door, badging and headlights, you know you're getting screwed. They're probably charging an extra $100K for those cosmetic stupidities.
I noticed that Porsche failed to mention the price, or the weight, for this ugly overpriced pig. Not that I want either, but I'd take the new Boxster Spyder over this so-called "Speedster", and probably save $100K. And run circles around it on the road and the track.
In my mind, Porsche has lost it's way. I understand it needed to change to make more money, but the current cars are not as well made, not as good looking, and the prices they charge for crap "upgrades" is an insult.
Pass.

I like it! It doesn't make sense but neither does the SC or the GTS. I still like them all and if SC sales are anything to go by, this car will sell out just as quickly. Why? I don't know but everyone has woody for Speedsters, myself included. One does not have to go outside of the 993 forum to understand that. I think this lineup is a great way to say goodbye to the 997 lineup. It's similar to what Porsche did with the 993, only with more choices that command more money...in other words, smarter. I don't remember such a fuss being made when the 996 was put to bed. And I agree that I would take a Spyder over this any day and not just because it's 1/3 the price.

^^^^^F%^$#k that's nice looking! Just my opinion you understand. Forget the price, imagine driving your favourite road on a sunny fall day (exactly like today where I am), top down listening to your favourite tunes, driving at a "spirited" pace. This just nails it for me.

I love it. the price, however, will be totally stupid. Not unlike the Alfa 8c. One of the prettiest cars ever, but $300,000 is just insane. Particularly when you inspect the car up close. It has a bunch of cheap sh*t parts bin sourced garbage all over it.
They should at least make the materials really special for the kind of money they ask. This speedster will probably be like, $250k or something insane.

$150k?
I think the Boxster Spyder is the "best" car Porsche has birthed in a long time!
