If you want the sweet set up:
1. 993 RS motor mounts
2. 993 Tranny Mount
3. SSK from FD Motorsports
4. Golden Rod from FD motorsports
5. Throw on a set of Fister Stage III
6. Chris Walrod's front suspension bushing

Stop, stop...I am possessed by the slippery slope demon. I do have all of the above and am one happy camper.
How hard is it to change the Tranny mount? Is this something I should attempt at home?

Also, you will love the Walrod bushings.
I didn't have my engine carrier strengthened based on the advice from my Porsche independent, Tognola. They have fitted RS engine mounts to many road cars (100+) without strengthening the engine carrier and they have never seen one break. If I was using my car on track a lot I would get it strengthened though, to be on the safe side.

Just bumping this question.

Just finished upgrading to RS motor mounts and strengthening the engine carrier this weekend.
After worn the stock mounts where I am thinking of doing the tranny mount as well, anyone have the part number ?

I see that on Carnewal´s site it is stated that the RS tranny mount is only for rear wheel drive 993/964´s, is this because the C4´s already have this mount ?
Anyway i would like to get some new rubber in there as i suspect that the 15 year old mount that i have today has seen its best days.

Is the instalation of the RS trany mount a big deal? I'm not interested in doing instal myself but would like input from others just for dealing with mechanics. Also do you notice a difference? Will instal my RS motors once snow melts. Also install of walrod front bushings. Two yrs ago did pss10 and m030 sport sways. I prob should have done these then? I didn't know about this slippery slope of upgrade spending then. Anyway is it still worth doing?

I did CW bushings when I did my PSS10s. Since they went on together I cant say if the CW's make that much of a difference but I can tell you that my car is tight and sharp...I have to think it is in part due to the CW's since this is their advertised benefit and the stock ones looked and felt like hell. Go for it.
Chris will remove your old ones for a small fee...totally worth it as removing these yourself will teach you the new meaning misery! Enjoy the slope!

You are just at the top of the slipperly slope....much more slippn' to go!

The installation of the mounts is very easy for a shop, and you can read the thread about the difference. Was a piece of cake for me since I have a lift and a lift jack. Its a bigger deal if your mounts are shot ; mine were not leaking and appeared OK. My car is off the road right now, so I will know feel the difference for another few weeks (depending on the weather).

Cheers,

Mike

RS trans mount = 964.375.055.80

NVH will be greater with the RS trans mount. It really is a personal preference but some don't care for it. The RS engine mounts go a long ways towards stiffening thigns up.

EDIT: oops, whidbey beat me to it.
