A/C diagnosis

Hey Emerald,
At this point it makes sense to change everything while the system is open and the car apart. Frankly, I would have suggested renewing the expansion valve and dryer anyway on a car of this age.
Take lots of pictures for us and good luck!

Hey Joe,
Yeah, I agree with you. I figure if I have to take it all apart, I am going with new evaporator, expansion valve, and drier. Debating about compressor.

Thanks Joe.
I guess I should just wait till the compressor goes bad.
I never thought about having the hoses replaced on the original metal. I guess when the time comes, I could just send it out to Amazon Hose in Florida. I guess they could do it, I know they do fuel lines.
Thanks again,
Emerald

Emerald, while you there, I would suggest you remove the left side under body panel (sill cover). This is where the 2 tubes run from the engine compartment to the front of the car. You'll see that there is a bolted connection in front of the rear left wheel. Check that connection too, mine was leaking there!

Subscribing. Mine just started acting up today. 14 yrs. of never having been serviced and on my third summer in AZ. I guess this a/c doesn't own me too much more. How much are you looking at for all your parts?

Hey Rick,
I am expecting my parts to arrive tomorrow. I went with Griffiths Kuel evaporator, which comes with the expansion valve already on it, and a new drier. It ran $631 with shipping.
I have a couple of things to do to clear some time before diving in.
I think I am going to find a set of hoses for the engine compartment from a 96-98 while I am at it as I am building a varioram engine for the car.
Any one got the lines from an a/c delete?
