So I drove this 964R today. And I'm very frustrated.

LA964,
Congratulations on owning such a fine example!
In one of the pictures it shows the car sporting what appears to be a UK registration plate on the front "L459TRW"
Is there any Uk connection, as it says the car never left the US,,just curious...Tks.

RS...looks like you did a good job preppring it...as it made it w/no issues. Jeff said its the best car he's had on the mountain...liked it better than the AWD Pcars he drove.
Maz....I wish I could drive like Zwart.....if it was real cold or a little damp we could have gotten it a bit loose, otherwise that thing is almost impossible to get "unstuck"...too much tire...as we discussed....designed to be fast but very user friendly....

Jeff is definitely the man and that video is great.
LA964RS... I recall reading about your car in Excellence and thinking that our minds must be connected somehow. The only difference is that you did what I can only dream of for the time being. Your car screams to me and many others with its focus. I prefer the less is more route and admire the soul of your car.

P1CR and LA964R!!!
I hope I can see these things in person on day...
LA964, Is there another project car in the works?

Oh-yeah. HTF did you source all the Ruf parts, especially the roll cage.

KWV3's are best bang for buck + as this is only a street car I didn't want to go overboard on dampers. You can tune easy here w/o getting lost. Quality is very VERY good. KW is very big in Europe and Manthey uses KW exclusively. I like these as I can put them on an aggressive tune and then when I want to do a long-trip...say like from LA to Monterey, I can put them on the old man soft setting....
Took years to gather all the Ruf stuff and I sold about 2x the number I have on the car as it was all extras....

You had better pray that your 993 can't read as you wrote, "'I've been giving my 993 the stink-eye ever since. The poor thing could never be that cool, will never be that fast, and never turn or stop the way that 964 does." And that poseur Duck Tail uggh! I'd rip that off in a heart beat and get the proper tail, a 964 RS America tail. There, your first project!
The 993 has a far superior rear suspension, hydraulic lifters, more HP, better brakes (assuming you install big reds) and readily accepts 993RS CS parts. I believe chassis rigidity is better on the 993....But the 964 does have a lower Cd.
I just ripped out my interior and replaced all the carpets and rugs with a 993RS carpet kit, all tucked in around my Heigo roll cage and a removable steering wheel, took out the passenger air bag, sold off the DAS-sport bar. Our ("Baby" and me) love affair has waxed and waned over the years (over 10...longer than some guys keep wives), but we are waxing again. "Baby" also has a GT2 tail and front splitters. She likes to park in front of large plate glass windows to look her self, well at least that is what she told me....now where are my meds? I have to get to work.
