It is getting hawt here in Georgia, and the first 8 minutes in my car after sitting outside in the sun is brutal. Why can't those vents just move a few more inches? Any crafty mods out there?

I have the same issue, the center vents and side vents hit the stops just a few degrees short of hitting the driver. Fortunately, it's a small cabin and cools pretty fast.

Just made it home - 1.5 hours in 94 degree florida heat; traffic near dead stopped the last 40 minutes. Glad I was the only one in the car so I could have all of the vents.

Same complaint here! Damn that's annoying. They couldn't make the vents so they would blow six inches more toward the driver?
I bet someone here is creative and could figure out a way to solve this problem...and I bet that 90 percent of 993 owners would pay for a solution.

Just cleaned my clock because of moist coming out the back of the center vent. It helps to re apply some foam to the rear of the vent and lessen lost air coming out. easily accessible when clock is out. Just my 2 cents.

accelerate hard and and turn right hard...
Seriously, there has got to be a way to modify... I always wonder about this, but never seem to remember to take a look at how they work when I am not driving

I have the same exact complaint. Here's what I've been able to figure out.
Our center vents have main horizontal fins which protude up to the edge of the vents. They seem to work perfectly being able to divert air up or down in a big arch. Now, the vertical fins are recessed inside the vent housing, eventhough they do have a good range of motion, being so deep inside the vent housing they cannot direct air much towards the dirvers face as the edge of the housing seem to redirect air straight out.
My fix would be to install some sort of vertical fin extension glued to the edge of the vertocal fins making them protrude all the way up to the edge of the vent, just as verticals fins do. Maybe some hard clear plastic?

Guess we all have this thought then. Glad it's not just me. I've been using mine as a daily driver the last couple of weeks and had no a/c for the first of those 3 weeks. No R134 left I guess. Just had a $200 full a/c service and it's AWESOME! Even though it doesn't blow directly on my face like most every other American and Japanese car on the road, it cools the cabin now even if it's in the 90's. Should have done this months ago. I've been suffering just to save some dough. Not worth it.
It was cold in the mornings or when cloudy out but as soon as it heated up outside, no cold air, before the a/c service. Now it's ice, baby.
