I recently purchased a set of hardback sport seats from a fellow Rennlister and they will be arriving on Monday. They are cashmere with polar silver backs.
My original plan was to get the seat backs painted in Ocean Blue (ext color), however, the PO suggested that I may want to keep them as is - as the polar silver has a tinge of blue.
I would rather not paint them but I haven't seen enough cashmere interiors with sport seats to make a decision.
Opinions appreciated!
Cheers,
Bob

Polar Silver does look blueish in the shade. Put them in the car, see if you like them that way and if not, then paint them. Installation is pretty straight-forward so you won't be doing too much extra work. The only thing I'd suggest is replace the stock bolts that hold the seats to the rails. They are made of cheese and are worthless.
I've used this type of bolt and it's held up much better:

I think the silver will be a nice contrast - give it a try and post pics.

I think you should put them in as is and get some aluminum face gages to match your shift **** and hand brake. That would really tie everything together. My hardbacks are a metalic charcol color and I have been thinking of painting them to match the aluminum face guages, shift **** and handbrake.

I personally don't like silver and cashmere together. But, these are your seats so if you don't think they clash, I would follow the earlier advise and bolt them in and live with them for a bit. If you don't like it, it's easy to pull them out again.
If it were my car, I'd paint them body color. In fact, those would be sweet with the red backs and belts to match my red couple!
