Me thinks the Pole Position, at least it's base, is a wee bit wider than the OEM RS and Speedster versions. Bill Verburg seems to be an expert on this.
What I want: RS or Pole Positions recovered in midnight blue leather with navy blue (lower cushion) and white (upper cushion) leather as the accent colours. Hmmmmm......
Once again, I hate this thread.

The lower cushion is supported by webbing. Leather is also perforated in areas.

+1 for the softback sport seats!
I just installed these and am very happy with the overall performance so far. I was hoping to find some with the 993 stitching but cashmere sport seats seem to be more rare than hen's teeth. These are out of an early 968 and have supple leather that is in phenomenal shape. Didn't care for the black piping at first but it is growing on me, or I no longer notice it. They are very comfortable, very supportive, and actually quite easy to get in and out of. The only down side is that they sit 1/2" - 1" higher than the standard seat.

Visual encyclopedia: RS/ Speedster/ Pole Position seats
Rhino--
Rob-- Good answers already posted above. I'm a little late to this party, but if ya like pitchers, see the following images.
I shared the below graphic on the first page of this thread, but here it is from its orginal context, discussing Pole Positions vs. OEM RS seats on the "ISO RS Seats, doors, and matter cage" thread:

The RS seats are just leather-covered Recaro Pole Positions, right? Is there any reason why a person can't just order a pair of black leather PP's and have an upholstery shop dye the center inserts in whatever color combination he wishes?
Pole Positions don't have cross bracing on seat back.

^^However, the one on the left appears to be an OEM Speedster seat, not the "RS" as its labeled above...
(from the "Speedster type 993 photo thread"):
(from the "Speedster type 993 photo thread"):
The RL posts comparing them say the Speedster versions are slightly wider & have slightly more padding, hence more comfortable.

RS man...the speedster and the RS are different seats. Speedster seat is a bit wider in the butt. Sort of like the way Recaro offers different sizes in the Profi series. Plus the speedster seat has the trampoline system in it which makes it more comfortable as it has a bit more cushion.
Don't know about the RS seats but the Speedster seats are a little bit wider than the off the shelf Recaro's. They also has a spring system in the bottom.

Here is a pic of the rear of the seats.. the black is the RS and the white is the Speedster.. note they are NOT the same seat.... they're very diff.

Originally advertised by RLer Group911@aol.com (Bob) for $6,500 USD, these picture-perfect seats are some of the most-revered on RL, & for good reason, recently brought home to the happy garage of CorrdoBrit. Congratulations!
