Default Source for RS Seats (993/964)

Does anyone have a source for RS seats for a 993 / 964, aren't they the same. Or is it just easier to buy leather Recaro pole position seats.

If you have to ask then you can't afford them....but seriously are these insanely expensive like all of the RS parts. And are they as hard to find as hens teeth.

Thanks,

You've basically answered yourself in your second sentence. Buy Recaro Pole Positions, they are pretty much the same except for the molded cross bracing in the back. Real RS seats are very rare and don't come often and when they do, be prepared to spend close to 5K for a set if not more. I ended up going for 996 GT3 seats.

Good luck with your search.

It was worth asking. I have debated the 996 GT3 seats but they just seem a little off in a 993. The other problem is that I have cashmere interior and black seats are the most common. I think Gert can get GT3 seats in cashmere.

Yeah...he wanted or wants...don't know if sold $4,500 for the pair...another guy had a set up for sale $6,500/pair....I have a 964 "Speedster" seat and it is very comfy...really nice stuff a bit more room than the RS which makes it better for long drives...nice seats, don't know if they are worth that much though.

Craig, you have a link/contact address for the speed yellow RS seats? Could not find them on their web page. Thanks!

What type of seat rails could be used to install the Recaro Pole position seats?

They mount to the standard seat rails in the car via a kit that you can order with the seats. The kit bolts on to the seat. This gives manual fore aft adjustment. The Recaro PP's really are a great seat and for around $900 each in leather are a good value alternative.

RS man...the speedster and the RS are different seats. Speedster seat is a bit wider in the butt. Sort of like the way Recaro offers different sizes in the Profi series. Plus the speedster seat has the trampoline system in it which makes it more comfortable as it has a bit mor cushion. They are also different part #s from Porsche.
