I have GT3 seats in mine (plenty of pics of these seats in 993s have been posted by others) but would love to get Recaro Sportster CS instead as they are much more practical.

I have had four different seats in my 993 cab and turbo. The first seats were unheated stand 8 way power seats. Nice, but I wanted heat. Next seats were 8 way power seats with heat (& I went from blue to black). The heat was a big thing for me due to a sore back. No difference between these two as far as comfort. Next I got the hardback heated sports seats. They are a little narrower than the standard seats and there is a little different feel with a little addition side support. However, IMHO they do not offer the support one would want for the track. Again IMHO, they are a cosmetic improvement only. When I bought the turbo it had 12 way heated power seats with lumbar support. I drove the car 1500 miles in 22 hours from Texas to California where I bought it. The heat and lumbar support made the drive so nice. I kept the sports seats when I sold the cab with the intention of putting them in the cab. But that lumbar and my bad back had me reconsidering my choice. In the end I went with looks over comfort. Most of the drives in the turbo won't be so long that the lumbar support will be an issue. And the looks of the sports seats is enough to demand that they had to be put in the turbo.

Bob-- ^^ Beauty!

P.S. I got your PM (& Jim for Chris) - thanks. I'll call when the photographer gives me a location & specifics. Look forward to seeing all 3 of you + your fine 993s soon.

Dog-- Recaro OEM Speedster seats.
Performance: light weight, sport buckets, perfect grip for me.
Comfort: enthusiasts typically love the feel, support, & fixed backs. The bolsters catch others by surprise.
Their 'trampoline' cushions are said to give more comfort over "RS" OEM Recaro buckets, which are otherwise very similar.

IronDog-- Are you looking to buy? Excuse for related pix & info...

RLer PorscheFan's RS seats FS on "Recaro Speedster style seats" thread: $8,500 + shipping. 858/454-9898 (9am-9pm PST). No affiliation.
That's on the 'Member to Member Classifieds' forum, so if I'm violating the intent or should remove any of this content, just let me know.

"RECARO bucket seats in leather orignal Porsche 964 RS" FS by Thomas Josef Schmitz, AKA germansportscars.net. Advertised at 4,900 Euros. Now listed as "Price for the set : POA." No affiliation, just a sickness for posting 993-related pix & rarities that might aid others (pseudo thread hijack over soon, I promise ).

Originally advertised by RLer Group911@aol.com (Bob) for $6,500 USD, these picture-perfect seats are some of the most-revered on RL, & for good reason. Featured in RLer dromicnorris (Mark Norris)'s 993, recently brought home to the happy garage of CorrdoBrit. Congratulations!

No one has posted a pic of the 996 Euro GT3s. Surprisingly comfortable and great for the track.

It's all good, Tim... you've survived my onslaught of Speedster & RS seat pix. I have hundreds more, but perhaps for a thread of their own a year from now.

Might be good to hear from any Pole Position owners...

Default Cobra Misanos

I've never sat in them, but otherwise respect for the looks, light weight, & adjustability of the Cobra Misano 'Lux' edition. IIRC, this RLer ordered his directly from Misano with "Porsche" embroidered on the seat.
