Default Slightly O/T Ingersol 2131 QT 1/2 Impact -I'm in love!

Turned 40 this year and I can't decide if it's because I'm lazier, smarter or just plain tired of turning the wrench by hand but I finally decided to put a compressor in the garage.

Wanted a 1/2 impact & did a bit of research & saw some recommendations for the IR 2131QT. Picked up a new one cheap ($120) on fleabay & got it in today. Let me just say I'm instantly in love. Gotta be one of the most well designed solid feeling devices I've ever met. Can't believe it's so light, small and quite AND delivers 600 ft lbs

Highly recommended!

I agree, and also picked up one (2135) on Ebay last year. The seller claimed it was out of commission, so I took a chance at $60. Once I received it, I completely stripped it and then re-assembled. It was gunked up from dirty air...

Not bad for a $300 gun.

White House, TN - Hmph. I have a buddy that lives there (944 guy).

I need a decent impact, though I rarely use it on the Porsche. Back when I worked on a Jeep all the time, impact and angle grinder were the main tools to have My Dad has some industrial IR impact that's a beast. It's all steel on the outside and I want to say it can do 1000 ft-lbs or so?

Couldn't you have simply blown it clean?

Umm, no. Twas full of residue within. I've used it numerous times and it works perfect.

I got a used IR impact gun on Ebay 3-4 years ago. It has saved my *** many times working on the suspension of my Porsches. Excellent tool!

Also picked up a 1/2" IR Titanium on ebay - quite the weapon!

Grap the mate to it in 3/8" if you can .... it has more jam than most 1/2" drives, and can fit almost anywhere - even up inside the bellhousing of a 928 to zap off the flywheel bolts. This little one ( mini-me) has become the most used impact gun.
