DAS sport bolt-in cage
Any experience here with occasional install and removal?
How do-able is removing this between track sessions (a couple months or so) for transporting very small humans?
...just wondering
Thanks!!

I have the DAS bar and I definately can't see my self taking it out every now and then.
I think Helgo offers a system where you can remove the diagonal bar(s) so that the rear seats can be used.

It's a PITA with one person. Getting the holes to line up perfectly is hard, you really got to push the bar into position, then try to thread in the bolts. You also got to remove the rear door panels & seat belts. I would leave the bottom brace in all the time, even with out the hoop due to the added work.
There is also a great chance of scratching the interior pieces if you try to rush. It's a hard tight fit back there. If mine comes out it will stay out for quite some time.

You definitely don't want any type of rollbar for unhelmeted occupants. Not good for the driver, even worse for back-seat kids.
And as already said, it is a time-consuming chore that you really don't want to repeat. I put in a DAS into my SC ...I don't ever want to remove it, except to replace it with a weld-in, that is.

I agree with the helmet thing, but with the DAS, if you are seatbelted in the car, you can not hit the hoop, it sits to far back.
Yes, I agree move it for a weld in for sure! I've been thinking of having my shop do tabs to mount the bar to the B-pillars, & put in another lower bar to stiffen it all up.

There is NO WAY anyone can use the back seat with the DAS bar. My dog will not even fit back there anymore.

Total brain fade there.
As for a bar with a belted person, I've read (FWIW there) that with flexing of the chassis, human body even belted, seats, etc. in a major collision, you really don't want a bar anywhere near your noggin. I wouldn't risk it, but that's just me.

Thanks for all the feedback guys - I really appreciate it!
Don't worry, I would never risk denting one of my kids' heads - at least not by way of car accident!
But seriously... thanks!
