In Canada we can watch NBC, CTV, Sportsnet, TSN and TSN2. Five channels in all, plus all the events are carried live and dispersed amongst the different Canadian networks. I watch NBC to see how they are covering the games and there isn't much to watch or it is heavily delayed. Sad.
I have the games on all day, the coverage is that good here, plus the HD is excellent.

That's what I've been wondering, I really just can't understand. I guess it's like so many other things: made for average, not to offend anyone.

This is how I used to see events like this, and this was in tiny Finland! Watching my 1st Olympics here in US, I was really expecting something special but what a let down this crap is.

The best coverage I have ever seen is the BBC for the summer games. I was in Scotland during the 2008 summer games, now they know how to put money to work and make an excellent broadcast!

I just turned on NBC & it was "Men's" figure skating. Not cool....

Someone please let me know when that part of the Olympics is over. I think one of them was crying.

And we can watch (and listen to) the CBC bitch about the while thing...

While you were typing this I was watching Canada serve an 8-0 spanking on the hockey opening game.

.... and witness Maelle Ricker demolish the field for Gold in women's snowboard

Hey Louis .... I suppose you were front row for the Opening ceremonies? I would have paid your salary to have sat beside Sarah McLachlan on that piano bench - what a show!

Of course, that's assuming they are bright enough to be offended ...
Our t.v. is designed for lowest common denomenator/short attention span viewers because that's the majority of the viewing audience and it's much cheaper to produce than quality programming. It's the perfect match to our high fructose corn syrup diet ...

I can't believe the prices that people are asking for tickets for some of these events!!! I'll be up there in a couple of days to see the Olympic flame fence! Amazing the organizing body paid so much for "Security" and they can't spare a detatchment to keep the freak'in protestors away while fans enjoy the Olympic flame during these games?

Default Vonn for the ages; Lindsey wins first Olympic gold

Lindsey Vonn grabbed the spotlight entering the women's downhill, but now she's sharing centerstage with teammate Julia Mancuso.
The pair finished with gold and silver in a crash-filled event at Whistler

I wish I could take pictures like that! I got them from my news feed on the web and watched from my living room like most of us.

However, I do have a little story about Sarah for you. She was my neighbor about 16 years ago. She and her then boyfriend invited me to their porch for a beer a couple of times. Friendly, kind, generous and unassuming. Still have a signed copy of Fumbling Towards Ecstasy kicking around somewhere.

It's an amazing result for Mancuso... Here's a cool story about those two.

I wonder if NBC will grace us with more than a half an hour of coverage tonight. (I've switched to private trackers (CTV/EuroSport/BBC/etc) for events I really want to watch.)

Vonn's run really was awesome, what a talent!! Sometimes I wish we didn't have such great coverage of these Olympics . . . I can't seem to get any work done!
