And it started up again. Snowing like a madman out there. The camaraderie on this board is great even when it has nothing to with driving a 993
Guess I'll wait till 630pm and go out there and spend another dreadful hour in the blizzard clearing the paths all over again.

Here's a few pics I took with my iPhone today in Manhattan. The first two are from 42nd Street around 2PM. The other two are from my neighborhood, a block from where I live. My dog Sharo anxiously awaits his play time...

Vancouver could use some snow
El Niño, Spanish for.... "The Niño," has made an uninvited, though not unexpected, landing ahead of the 2010 Olympic Games. And like Chris Farley in the now infamous SNL skit, the irregularly occurring phenomenon has been a troublesome sight. The weather pattern has brought warmer weather to Vancouver. The record warmth and dearth of snow has proven particularly problematic at low-lying Cypress Mountain, site of the snowboarding and freestyle skiing events. The mountain has been shuttered for the past sveral weeks as hundreds of workers have been working round the clock to create a winter wonderland in time for the Games. Cypress is expected to be ready for competition.

After our initial 30" deposit, we ended up an additional 12+" from yesterday's dusting. Apart from the many hours spent running the snow blower and shoveling, it is quite beautiful around here now.

Just dug out again, this morning, after all the blowing and drifting and getting snow plowed in again from the snow plows. What an excellent work out. It's beautiful out there today. We're allowed to just work from home so I'm happy as can be. My 993 will not be coming out of the garage into all this muck, dirty snow, salt on the roads, etc for a LONG time. Glad I got to drive it a couple of weeks ago.
This is a good time to catch up on movies... it's too bad I've pretty much seen them all though, on cable and at the theater. Can't wait till tomorrow when new ones come out again. I can walk to our theater here in my neighborhood in 5 minutes. Thank god I don't live out in the country on lots of acreage like I initially wanted to 2 years ago. My wife talked me into moving into a neighborhood with zero lot lines, hardly any yard at all, but you can walk to everything. It's kind of like downtown but out in the suburbs.

I just saw on the news that drifting on the road where my office is located is so bad that two people spent the night stranded in their cars and were rescued this morning. Helicopters searching for other stranded people up there and national guard helping to get to them. Spent 90 minutes with the snow blower clearing 300 feet of driveway so the wife and neighbors could get out and go to work.
