I don't think they did it this time. Although Midtown was completely free of snow this morning when I walked out of the train so who knows...

Some Wheaton streets haven't seen a plow for the blizzard, and in the Kemp Mill area only one time on Monday. That's just plain terrible..... My street/development has been plowed a zillion times.

This thread could on for a month or more, with all the reports coming in from this storm and then the next snow is expected in a few days. We're down to bare, black asphalt in most areas here in my "hood" now. Yeah! Maybe I'll try to venture out tomorrow. My wife is at the mall today and she said the main roads are fine. I'm enjoying being self-imposed housebound still. So many movies, so little time.

The main roads are all drivable at this point. Sometimes they neck down to one lane, but still. I can't believe that they have shut the gov't down for so long!

I was asking about NY.
Dc is dumping at RFK
Alexandria is dumping on the land underneath the new WW bridge and Baltimore is dumping in the harbor.

I thought I heard Montgomery Village HOA contracts out the plowing?

Roads north of Damascus were still bad earlier, south was not too bad although 270 had places where the water was 4" deep. Not going near my office in Buckeystown area of Fredneck tomorrow from what I am hearing.

Now you guys have a place to send your snow....
Send it on down. We typically get a few days of snow in Vancouver but last winter we had our "blizzard"; ~3' of snow over the course of ~3 weeks. The most I've ever seen in the 24 years I've lived here. If only the weather gods could've waited another year...

I rem' getting caught in a blizzard in NYC back in the early 80's.
IIRC that was in '81. I was living in Manhattan at the time and cross country skied down the middle of 5th Ave. The wierdest thing was how quiet the city was - nothing was moving.

I look at the photos of all that grey now and it makes me cringe.

Is that safe? I hate to imagine the chemicals used for road treatments...

It all ends up there anyway via the storm drains.
