I went to Hunter today. They got 60" since monday. My house got "only" 40" or so and it was still snowing when I left this evening.

My 42lb dog almost "drowned" in it. I struggled to create a path, the snow plow is coming to clear my driveway tomorrow. As you can see, the snow that's piled on both sides of the street is higher than the roof of my car! Crazy!!

Here's a few pics of the insanity and a video...

And as a reference, here's what it looks like with no snow on the ground...

What made you want to trudge all the up there if there was no power and there was so much snow? It must have been a scary drive! Awesome video and pics. Also - Hunter? NY? Never heard of it.

Thanks for posting.

There's pretty decent skiing up there, right now.

Ilko: That looks like a great place to spend time, summer and winter.

You kidding me? This is a once in a decade experience! I wouldn't want to miss it! I've been having a great time all morning in the snow. Here's the link to Hunter: http://www.huntermtn.com/ - headline on the front page: "Over 7 ft of snow in the past 5 days!"

Thank you, it's a great weekend getaway from the City...
