IIRC, weren't there some comments in the past about hitting your elbow on the drink when shifting?

I usually just leave it there but I started to put it behind the back seat since it is a little low rent

And you can't fit a Big Gulp in there either

I could see it as a problem for the exceptionally gangily. My elbow is aware of the coffee travel mug on 1st to 2nd shift, but it doesn't really interfere.

I used to use the roll of duct tape in my previous 3 Porsche's, I wanted a little bit classier solution for this car.

Default 993 cup holder

I purchased a cup holder that replaces the cassette holder between the seats.
Works great. I purchased it from some guy in the UK some time ago. It is somthing you can make yourself. Take the original caqssette or cd holder, cut the top off of it and replace the top with a flat plate with two cup size holes cut in it, wrap it in vinyl or leather. Who needs a cassette or CD holder anyway these days.
Hope this helps.
Andy

It's a shame he stopped making/selling these.

I have one on the wife's Targa and like it even better than his cupholder design...

This is the same one in my car and works great!

I got my cupholder from Prestige Parts also in the UK.

It is covered in leather that matches my interior perfectly. Quick turnaround and great service.

Those center-console cupholders from Prestige Parts - what's the inside diameter of each cupholder? Will it hold anything other than a soda can or small coffee mug?

I'm thinking specifically of those trips through the Whataburger drive-through and their "medium" sized drinks. They're tapered at the bottom to supposedly fit cupholders (they do in my 3series).
