latest progress..
yellow stuff over areas with metal work = awlgrip anti-corrosive 30-Y-94 primer
white = awlgrip 545 primer
beige = awlgrip high build primer
red = awlgrip awlfair fairing compound
roof and quarter panel will get final coat of primer tomorrow, which i'll sand to 400 on Thursday/Friday. we'll be spraying color and clear over the weekend, i'll start putting everything back together next week
my friend bryce stopped in after work to help block sand the roof to get it ready for primer:

not a problem, glad you can use it
dude, nothing beats a rainier tall boy when you're doing body work
Thanks Bert - staying with the 3.6 for now, i'll address that next winter but for now I just want to have the body work/paint and suspension dialed in. When will I get to see pictures of your gt2 clone?
i'm surprised too.. thought about it, but it's a really involving job, and I already had so much on my plate to take care of.. Looking back, I actually do wish I had gone ahead and done that. Oh well..
Yeah I'm down.. weather is slowly getting nicer around here..
okay more updates. it's been a crazy week.
had to do a repair on a giant crack in the new RSCS front splitter that I got in on Friday. Repaired it that night and Saturday morning.. set me back a good 5 hours.. I had to grind down the crack, reinforce it with two layers of carbon on the back side, shape the front leading edge with thickened resin, sand it down, put on a coat of primer, and sand that down..
Saturday was a long day. I was at the shop till 5AM getting everything ready. Went home for three hours of sleep, and got up at 8AM to keep going on the car.
Sprayed the car Sunday night. Was practically running on fumes at that point.. dead tired, and a bit nervous about painting the car. Colin had to prep for his trip to Mexico, so I ended up finishing the job myself. turned out pretty well though, especially being my first time spraying anything besides primer... and i suppose that's really the best way to learn.. just do it. I'm definitely happy with the results, and so relieved to be finished. now I can take my time putting it together and start enjoying the project. i'll wet sand and buff everything tomorrow.

funny you should ask that.. the drivers side rear quarter has the tabs because that quarter panel is off the black donor car. The passenger side rear quarter is cut as a straight cut, which is the better way to go, it's stronger that way.
little update.. finished wet-sanding and buffing the car and parts.. will start putting everything back together today.
