Thanks guys - Update time!
cage masked off and ready for paint:
picked up a scrap honda bumper from a body shop to cut up and make cutouts to plastic weld shut the bumperette holes and tow hook cover holes. VERY time consuming.. i was up till 11PM cutting and plastic welding.
The cage will be painted tomorrow or Friday. I should have the rest of the car painted in two weeks!

Three Wheelin'
Very nice! You cage looks just like mine other than one more bar on the door (edit) and a diagonal roof bar and yours isn't welded to the car in many spots. Ok mabye not so close but I like it anyway!

Interesting cage, what is going on with the door bars?...The diagonol at the B post is lower than the Matter which joins at the same level as the horizontal bar. Also X door bars on RSR. Is it finished in this form?
What are you doing with the roof, the whole seems larger than a sunroof, yet too much roof in place at the moment to give the impression the panel is removed?
Good luck with the build

My softback sport seats came from that black donor car:
Dude how long have you known Colin? That guy knows what he is doing. He built this 912/911 franken car essentially from scratch. I have been lucky enough to own it twice and both times I sold it there was a bidding war with many unhappy peeps:

here you go :
w/ my vr6 turbo widebody gti:
w/ roy's RSR:
The cage is not to the exact RSR spec.. the car will be more of a street car / weekend car than anything, it won't see much track time. The cage was welded in before I even took over the project, I had no say in the matter
As for the roof, I am splashing a carbon roof off an early 911 with no sunroof this week
Not a bad idea.. i bet we could arrange something. I don't really know many of the Porsche guys around here. Maybe in about three weeks from now when the car is a little farther along?
A few pictures from today.. Colin sprayed the cage, underside of the wing, and door jams on the doors
