Sad day. My car is wrecked. See pics

Glad you survived relatively unscathed. Your photographs are pretty horrific and reminds me of when I took my SC out on a wet and rainy November afternoon and had the rear end come around, being helpless and just going for the ride. Good Luck on sourcing a replacement.

I'm considering a 993 and the pictures are kind of disturbing; the side where my wife or mistress would be sitting is pretty caved in. Are these cars safe? Also, regarding the mistress, how impervious is the rear window to attack by golf club?

Man, glad you are OK, count your blessings! Does look like the ol' spin in the rain...been there, done that, and it sure happens fast!
On the positive side, someone will be getting a 993 Turbo engine that is pristine...does not look like any rear damage to the car.
Cheers,
Mike

You have some really great advice so no more for me to add.
Another observation: I am really wondering how 993s would have stacked up with the newer side impact rating system. Trees and cars do not work well together. But the intrusion into the passenger compartment is horrifying. My son had a similar accident with our Mustang convertible. Lost control on a wet road around a bend in the road. A few 360s and a tree. But the mustang seemed to hold up better. It was the first time I heard of the term that the damage caused the car to flex like a banana. The opposite side of the intrusion had curved from front to back like a banana. My son also suffered from bruises and two cracked ribs (and one hell of a bruised ego!).
Glad you are ok.

I was at an accident scene once several years ago where a young guy put his Mustang into a large light standard that didn't move. I stood on the damaged (passenger) side of the car and could put one hand on the headlight and the other on the taillight. There was that much of a bend to the car. The driver (no seatbelt) was ejected out the small rear quarter window and landed 100+ feet away. His shoes were still on the driver's floorboard. He was alive when they took him away to the hospital. Traffic accidents like this are bad. Anytime you can walk away from one you should count your blessings.

needa993,
Here's a local ad for a 24K miles 993 TT if you need to establish market comps. Also glad you survived:
