Hi There

Were three spoke for the Tiptronic cars ever produced? I have a 993 Tip and would very much like one if they were.

It's going to be tough to ship the air bag legally, they are considered hazardous.

I've got a black leather 996 turbo(thicker rim) 3 spoke wheel w/ a/b for sale. local pick up only though

How does Porsche ship them here?

They most certainly were.

Some 6-speed 993 drivers have rigged the 996 Tip buttons for stereo control.

When I purchased my airbag from Sunset, they sent UPS ground, but there was an endorsement of some sort that in the end cost a little more to ship.

Same here.

I used to ship compressed air and UPS required a hazardous label and a few extra bucks.

I wonder who the eBayer is. A first time auction and from here in LA (?)

Sunset has the requisite license and can ship an a/b for a small extra fee. Not all dealers do. You are not even allowed to reuse the box as a private person.

my avatar is a 996 manual wheel and bag working fine on my 968. keep searching on ebay daily, you will find a tipronic wheel and bag if you keep digging... you can call L.A. Porsche and ask to get on a waiting list for the 996 tip units... just need to wait but i've seen a few on ebay, and you will be dealing with zero to minor mods to make it work... or you can source a new bag.

as for getting people to ship bags... ummm i wasn't aware that people give a crap about the yada, yada police state agenda.

you may also be able to get a Cayenne wheel and bag to work... and dozens to be had for low $$$.

Ebay seller packages up the steering wheel and airbag in a priority box and heads down to the post office.

Post office employee: "Are you shipping anything hazardous, or contains liquids?"

Ebay seller: "Nope"

End of story. Not condoning this action just calling it as I see it.

Gert sells 3 or 4 different styles for the Tip.
