Intel on a C2S - anybody know this car?
All,
I'm interested in this particular C2S on eBay. It looks good. The Carfax is a bit fishy in terms of the jump in mileage. If anybody knows about this car, or has seen it in person, or is nearby and could look at it, please let me know. Thank you very much.

Just in case: item: 250515896301 on eBay

That is a terrible car...don't even consider it!
Cause I'm having it inspected by another Rennlister on Friday

Will do Bobby...if I get the chance that is. The car is still on ebay with a buy-it-now and I won't hit that button without having someone lay their eyes on it. So someone can still beat me to it if they want to.

Those appear to be aftermarket white gauge faces. The tach face should have "CarreraS" at 6 o'clock.
The dents in the hood and curb rash on the rims certainly need to be taken car of as well as the accumulating rust around the brake rotors and exhaust cans. This car also didn't get the M030 suspension from the factory.

I'm not so sure about those being aftermarket silver gauges.
My C4S came with silver gauges from the factory (it has the factory option code) and it also doesn't have the normal "S" script on the black gauges.

C4S does not have a logo
the aluminium dials are from factory, it is on the papers. option X71
how sad it does not have the OBComputer
leave your 993 car outside under rain for two days, and you will see your brakes rusted, your cans rusted, a good amount of your engine bolts with white powderish corrosion.
The seats' wear is not to my liking, maybe the pictures

Agree totally Geolab. This car was a daily driver in Arkansas for the first year of its life and EVERYTHING is original except the battery, fluids and belts. Nothing has been changed as the current owner (since 1999) isn't what I would call an active enthusiast. Just a nice guy who appreciates the car for what it is. Hence, he hasn't even changed the tires during his 10 year, 20,000 mile ownership (I suspect they had just been replaced when he bought the car). When these cars change hands amongst enthusiasts, they often get upgrades beyond what is necessary, like new tires, suspension, exhaust etc....The next owner will need to do these things to this car.

Yes Bobby...both on the phone and via email. I think he is a nice enough guy, but he has a number in mind and won't budge despite the repairs that are necessary. No biggie, just not the car for me at his asking price. My biggest issue is the hood, I've called 3 paintless dent guys and they all said it can't be fixed because the paint is cracked and the dent is coming from the inside out. I don't want to repaint the hood and won't pay top dollar for a car that is not primo...

Mark,
FYI, a very good paintless dent person can successfully remove an "inside out dent" provided the paint has not cracked. I had one almost dead center in my hood and it was successfully repaired. Now I also will say it was a little on the pricey side, but faced with the alternative repair/paint cost and losing the original finish, it was money well spent.

He posted a better pic of the dent on the hood. It looks far worse than the one he original had on the ad. I can see how that would not be easy to repair without paintwork.

Thanks Jeff. He actually sent me another pic of the dent in macro setting and the paint is definitely cracked. The top PDR guy around here told me that once the paint is cracked (especially on a small, sharp dent), the metal is too deformed to get it out completely. He could make it much better, but not perfect.
