Yeah, i didn't want to be the first to call BS either. $47k sounds extremely generous from a dealer in this economic climate.

What the dealer is doing is allowing 47 as a trade in but is actually buying it for a lot less given he would discount the new car.

OP says it was a 'straight up buy' offer. I assume that means no trade factors into the offer. Something stinks here.

Excellent point!

As for all BS meters going off, the post does seem suspect but TRINITONY seems to know who he is, so maybe the guy deserves the benefit of the doubt until he proves otherwise.

This is a joke right? If they offered you 47k cash and you didnt hit the bid then you're not a seller or that was a phantom bid.

Dealer... "sure I'll give you 47k cash for the car"
Seller... "umm I realyl want 50k"

two weeks later...

Seller... "okay I'll sell you the car for 47k"
Dealer... "47k? umm no thanks, I dont think you heard me correctly the markets not there on that car"

BS meter = HOD

If it was rockville porsche I would be mighty surprised to see that check handed over. I would not be surprised that they hit him with a high number hoping he would come back

Again, who's the dealer? Is it a secret? Why?

I have a very similar car. I want to sell it to that dealer, too

Or at least use the info for my selling ammo and try some dealers around here....

+1.

Mine was there the minute I saw it but it was so early in the post that I didn't want to go negative. Could be a lot of wasted time and energy on this one.
