Thanks Darin, My 993 suspension is very well sorted out and is truely an awesome handling car.

I'm asking because owning one someday is on my "to do" list
Fiction. Unless you want to factor in that the front suspension "joints" not the struts wear out every 75k miles or so. Handles very well but its a pretty bad desing for longevity. I kind of eats itself apart. The parts cost about ~$1500 to replace the the front joints. Ugh!

Fair enough.

Hey Tony,

I have a drilled box so let me know if you want to hear what it sounds like when the Varioram kicks in. Gotta love it!

Hi Chris, The MTM chip is pretty subtle. I think it raises the boost a bit, although I do not know how much. The fuel economy actually went up in my car from 26 mpg to 27.5 mpg. Go figure. I waited till the car was 4 yo before I chipped it. If I had to do it again, I would chip it the day I got the car. Again, the chip is very subtle. The audiworld forum is a great resource for info on this car. Although, I never found it to nealy as friendly or helpfull as the RL 993 forum. Audi guys on that forum (I realize I am generalizing here) have lots of attitude.

Bob, thanks seems like a sensible upgrade. We have a forum over here called RS246.com, seem like affable chaps but like you said not as good as RL 993.

Have you noticed with your S4 the gearing in 6th is identical to the 993, 3800 rpm = 100mph.

Update -
The blue VX220 AKA Lotus Elise clone has gone, one trick pony!
The S4 is out the door after 3 visits to the physio for neck and back issues(You'd have thought Audi could design a decent seat!)

I have re joined the fold with an 88 3.2 Carrera currently in the shop with a repaint in Koenig Blue. For those interested a short picture story http://sites.google.com/site/porsche911retro/

Cool story, going from the P car to the Audi to the Lotus to a.... 3.2 Carrera? Awesome restoration project.
