Default H3 HID Fog light for Porsche 993 (35W or 55W)

Has anyone installed HIDs into their fog lights?

I have thought about doing it buy haven't done so yet...waiting for someone else to take the first leap! Need to make sure the ignitors are in a waterproof location...lots of voltage going through those!

Same thing I was thinking. Unfortunately, that link doesn't provide more details. I'm sure the ballasts/igniters are supposed to be water proof. If so, then placement of them maybe an issue.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would mount the ignitors in the bumper supports...I'd probably want to mount then in the trunk somewhere and further reinforce the wiring.

From the pdf instructions:
"Next plug your OEM power supplies (fog light & city light) back into your fog light housing. Then mount the ballasts in a dry, flat, clean location using the supplied double sided tape. The bumper support brackets are a good location."

How does one decide? I have factory Litronics - a color match would be nice.

Suspect that 4300K is the OE Litronic colour ...

Ferdie993 do you remember the manufactuer of your HIDs? I'm not sure if all the ricer kits are made equal. Also where did you mount your B and I?

Does this actually work well in fog? I can see doing this for driving lights but for fogs I thought the idea was a low beam that wouldn't reflect back at you off the fog. I'd worry that they'd actually be too bright.
