Having just bought a beautiful '96 Cab, I have been looking around at the hardtop market. Living in France, I have found a small company that makes aftermarket hardtops, which look fantastic. If anyone is interested, I am getting prices. Shipping might be an issue, but hey, it could be worth it

Does look very nice. My first thought, however, is that it would be a real PITA to remove the entire soft top from the car in order to do the change over. It will be interesting to hear from those who may have had experience with this. Please post what you learn about prices, shipping and installation issues.
I have taken the cab top off my car 3 times now. I can have it done in about 20-30 minutes. You need 2 people to lift it off the car though.

Mike - OT but you know it's still not too late to convert your cab into a Speedster! FYI, in the Techart catalog they have a very cool looking hardtop for the Speedster....the pic shows it on a black lowered 964 Speedster...looked very menacing...like a cockroach on steroids!

I thought I found the Speedster 'holy grail' when I stumbled across the below photo in the Cargraphic catalog; notice the rare rear quarter windows (darkly tinted). Unfortunately, they also said it's no longer offered. So close
Is this similar to the cockroach Speedster you describe?
My bad...it was Cargraphic and not Techart...I didn't have the catalogs in front of me when I typed the above. You have posted the pics of the CG top I was referring to...I think that's a pretty badass looking "cockroach"...I'll take mine in flat black!
If you ever decide to get a vinyl skin job for your Speedster, IMHO that would look pretty awesome...especially with the Techart top. Actually yout car would look pretty hot in almost any color, if it were mine I would even add yellow and orange flames for a different look ever once in a while!

The hoops on the Barry Bonds Speedster was done by S-Car-Go...is that who you asked? It was a custom job...the car was featured in 911 & Porsche World and IIRC there were some quite detailed pics of its construction. It should not be difficult to replicate from what I remember and any race shop should be able to do it.

The Speedster clamshell will not fit a stock cab due to the framework of the cab top getting in the way. I have an original clam shell and it will not work. Does the one pictured by Curve Lover fit with the top on? If so I will get one.

AFAIK there is no way to fit a clamshell over the standard cab top b/c of the shape of the frame. IIRC you either have to swap to a speedster top (and windshield/frame), or delete the top entirely.
HT993-- Regarding the below-referenced thread, please respond with update on your factory 993 hardtop (here or there).
Piers4954-- If you haven't seen it yet, you may find some helpful info in the 4-page RL "HARD TOP 993" thread.
Hi Curve Lover: I've posted an update to the HARD TOP 993 thread.
Piers4954: I'm based in Paris too, so if you like to exchange information, just send me a PM. I was talking with Dominic Moris about his hard tops before coming across an original Porsche 993 hardtop mentioned in the other thread.

Very cool; welcome back!
Kinda funny, looks like I was typing the following on the "HARD TOP 993" thread while you were responding here...

I spoke with Domnique Moris about his fibreglass products before finding the original hardtop I posted about a little while ago. He knows his stuff, and was very helpful.

As suspected: versus the factory's Speedster clamshell humps or similar, apparently no advantage to the following part sold by D. Morris...
