As soon as I pressed 'send,' I realized I can offer a more conclusive answer, if ya like:

I'll soon be e-mailing the gent who'll know, so I'll try to ask him.

For even better shots of a yellow RS (plus a silver 993 GT2!), check out the September issue currently advertised on the 911 & Porsche World magazine website. Enjoy!

We get to drive a 993 GT2 against a 993 RS. Can it get any better than that?

This one's from the collection of "you know you're getting old when": you probably shot a photo of the same car in the same position when it was a new car about 27 years ago. But K3's were what really inspired me to go beyond my first dream of doing an IROC replica.

you and i think alike
with all the amazing cars i saw over 5 days, the 935 variants get me the
"sweatiest" !

Afford? Not sure. Merely "drive" as in their dog-and-pony show outside the Pebble Lodge (along with all the others including.........Hyundai???)? Well, we pedaled the bikes in from Carmel on Saturday, so we roll into where at Bugatti stand was. One of the guys looks at me funny. I was almost quick enough when I said something to the effect of "we're so broke right now we're down to the bicycles". I THINK if it was the flunky's decision on whether to give a drive, that would have got me behind the wheel. But the disapproving look from senior management kept me from pushing things.

How's this for a Monroney sticker? (On second thought, within our lifetime we'll probably see an entry level Porsche with these numbers.)

race911 08-21-2009 10:59 PM

Damn, compressed too small to read. If anyone wants the original, let me know. But the relevant number is $1.8M (based on 6/08 exchange rate.........which begged the question of this being a "leftover" '08?). Also, shipping is $80K. HUH? What's it cost to charter a plane just to transport them one-by-one, plus singlehandedly deliver the thing to a dealer?

Ken-- They do have to sit in first class, ya know. ;)

Friday night at the PCA party, a Veyron drove past us at the Carmel Mission.

Sunday at the Laguna Seca Raceway, a carguy came up to talk 993s & Speedsters. He turned out to be a VW owner & enthusiast. He had looked at a Veyron up close, his goal to photograph the Volkswagen name displayed in it. Said it didn't take long once he looked in the engine compartment & found a couple parts with the VW stamp.

Veyron wants to be like its older brother, the 993.
