Does any have any experience using Dr ColorChip to touch-up road rash?
Thanks

I am trying it now. My first pass was on my Polar Silver and didn't work worth a hoot. So I emailed them for help. It seems silver and other metallic's are a bit problematic and you need to modify the instructions.

Specifically they said: "Sometimes the silver paint we make is thin and some instant aging could help you out. Try pouring off a little paint in a paper cup and stir it until it begins to thicken. Then trying dabbing and smearing it on the chips. It should cover better. Then, give it at least 10 minutes before using the blending solution on a T-shirt rag. The silvers tend to need a little longer to bond. You can apply a good amount of paint on or near the chip also if you smear it out the chip…just keep smearing it all around until it appears to cover the chip well. That is likely the issue, rather than anything on your chips."

It will probably be another 10 days until I try again. Post your results if you beat me to it.

The Polar Silver matched perfectly for me. However, this whole idea about smearing and wiping off didn't work for me. It either wiped right out of the chip or, if I left it longer, became very difficult to remove from the surrounding area. I might experiment some more and see if I can get it to fill better.

I have used it on my black. I works so-so. It doesn't seem permenent. After a while, I see the same chips again. I could say it's better than nothing and you can't beat the price. The little bottle goes a long way.
Good luck with your silvers.

I was thinking of trying it. I ordered paintscratch.com for my Aventurine and it doesn't look very good. My fenders look like they have measles in natural, bright light.

I used it last summer on my car to touch up some chips; I found the kit easy to use and it worked very well. I will eventually get the nose re-sprayed but Dr. Colorchip helped me postpone it for awhile.

Regards,
David
